Strolling Group

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:

The Strolling Group is aimed at those who like to walk but don't feel up to the more strenuous ones.

We are looking for people to come up with ideas for strolls.  The Stroll should be no more than an hour, at a strolling pace.  It can be circular or linear, doubling back on ourselves. We'd rather not have cars in two places or uses other transport.  We also want to keep it fairly local as no one want an hour and a half drive each way, for an hour's walk.  We usually walk on the 2nd Monday of the month and in the 4th week on the Tuesday or Wednesday, finishing with a coffee and chat afterwards.

We will try to remain local and members are encouraged to organise a walk in their own locality.

July 2025

The next stroll will take place on Tuesday 22nd July at 11.00am from the Glasgow bound side of Uphall Station.

Train stations tend to be quieter during school holidays so there should be ample parking.

We will walk around the Roman Camps area and return to the starting point.  We will go to  Williamsons for a coffee afterwards.

As we have had a lot of rain recently, please, be prepared for a bit of mud and if you feel it is necessary, bring a walking pole.

Many thanks to Linda Gilbert for organising this walk.

We are still looking for other ideas for strolls.  If there is anything near you, please, think about leading a stroll in your own area.
