For our final garden visit of the year, we will be visiting Glassmount House Garden near Kirkcaldy.  It is a densely planted walled garden with surrounding woodland. An A-listed sundial, Mackenzie & Moncur greenhouse and historical doocot are complemented by a number of newer structures. Daffodils are followed by a mass of candelabra and cowslip primula, meconopsis and Cardiocrinum giganteum. Hedges and topiary form backdrops for an abundance of bulbs, clematis, rambling roses and perennials, creating interest through the summer into September. The garden is now extending beyond the walls, with new areas of naturalistic planting blending the boundary between the surrounding fields and the woodland.  It is open under the Scotland’s Garden scheme for charity and the main beneficiary is Parkinson’s UK.  Entrance is £6 and it is stated that they prefer cash, though those of you who went to Stobshiel will remember that they were also happy to take card.
