The garden was built in the early 20th Century for Scottish adventurer Ella Christie by Japanese garden designer Taki Handa. It was vandalised in the 1960s, and opened to the public in 2018 following restoration. More information can be found here.

This is our planned garden visit for 10th July.  Booking is essential, so please, let Anne know as soon as possible, though I will try to make a provisional booking.  Lunch is available on site but you can also eat your own picnic there.  They cater for gluten and dairy free requirements.

New members are always welcome to this group. Just a little caveat, the first time I went there, the sat nav told me I had arrived when there was nothing but woodland on my left side.  If this happens just keep driving until you find the entrance on the left, a couple of hundred yards further along.  There used to be a single track road in and out but the last time I was there, there were separate entry and exit roads, though still single track
